Apply online for a Berkeley County Marriage License. Both applicants must provide valid government-issued photo identification and payment at the time of submission.

What You Will Need
  • Valid government-issued photo ID for both parties
  • Social Security Numbers for both parties
  • Date of birth, city and state of birth
  • Mailing address and contact information
  • Prior marriage information (if applicable)
  • Debit or credit card for the application fee
  • If you are not a US citizen upload your valid passport or Visa in place of the items above
Important Notes
  • There is a 24-hour waiting period after application is processed before your license is available
  • At least one applicant must appear in person to pick up the license (unless mailing is selected)
  • Payments are non-refundable
  • We do not accept Employment Authorization cards
  • A license can be applied for 24/7, however the application will not be processed until the next business day
Begin Marriage License Application Look Up a Marriage License

Request a certified copy of a marriage license on file with Berkeley County Probate Court. Certified copies are $5.00 each and will be mailed to the address you provide.

What You Will Need
  • Names of both parties on the license
  • Approximate date the license was issued
  • Your mailing address
  • Debit or credit card for payment ($5.00 per copy)
Processing Time
  • Allow at least 2 business days after submission for processing
  • You may request up to 10 copies per submission
  • For more than 10 copies, please submit a separate request
  • Payments are non-refundable
